Scott graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a MChem Medicinal and Biological Chemistry. During his master’s, he completed his final-year research project at the Technical University of Munich under the supervision of Professor Shigeyoshi Inoue, where he worked on the design and synthesis of bioactive silicon-containing compounds.

Scott’s main interest is in medicinal chemistry, particularly the design of novel therapeutics. His PhD research focuses on the design and modification of endogenous peptides to support the delivery of therapeutics to the central nervous system.

Outside the lab, Scott enjoys the outdoors. He can often be found climbing, running or spending time in the hills.
